The Hike for Hospice Palliative Care is a unique national fundraising event across Canada that brings together organizations working in hospice palliative care to raise funds and awareness in their community!  Each year, typically during the first week of May, thousands of ‘hikers’ participate in events put on by their local hospice palliative care organizations.  All funds raised during the Hike for Hospice Palliative Care stay within the community in which they were raised.

In 2021, SASHA held its first annual Hike or Bike for Hospice in support of the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Week.  Due to COVID-19, this was a virtual event where participants were encouraged to Hike or Bike 5 kilometers, wherever or whenever they chose over a one week time frame (first week in May). In 2022, the event continued to be held virtually.

Monies raised went towards supporting SASHA’s mission: to support, educate and empower those who are affected by or caring for a person with a life-limiting illness in our community.  Click here to find out more about just some of the ways that these gifts impact our clients and their caregivers.
